Last fall, Jessica started working with my 6th grader who struggles with organizing her thoughts and putting them into writing. Jessica was able to thoroughly engage my daughter by incorporating my daughter’s interests into her learning and writing. By the end of the school year, my daughter was more confident in her ability to organize her writing and was proud to have us read what she had written over time with Jessica. The improvements in my daughter's writing became more evident in her school work as the year progressed. We were most pleased to see evidence of the breakthrough in my daughter's skills that were evident in her organized and grammatically correct letters that she wrote to us while she was at sleepaway camp!

My son had a difficult time starting to read, and in progressing in his literacy skills at school. When he approached 2nd grade, we realized that he would need specialized help and that is when another classmate’s mother referred/recommended that we consult with Jessica of Keys to Literacy and Learning, LLC. Only after a few weeks of working with the company’s literacy specialists, we were astonished to his progress. The team provided guidance through basic steps that allowed for him to improve his reading comprehension and writing skills. Every session took him a step further in his literacy improvement and building his literacy skills and he continues to progress through this program. Jessica and her team are wonderful and truly know how to engage a child and make the most of every moment with our child. We will continue to work with Keys to Literacy and Learning, LLC and look forward to our child’s continued improvement and progress.

I feel more confident teaching guided reading and now my students are making more progress. I've learned many skills and strategies to help my students to become better readers. Many times, they will lead the discussions because they are excited about the stories, and what they have learned. Thank you Jessica for helping me and my students with guided reading.

I would like to express my appreciation and admiration of Professor DeLucia. I have known her since September of 2015, and in that short amount of time, she has truly inspired me to be the best educator I could possibly be. I am a junior majoring in Childhood Education and English Language Arts at Hunter College. I had my first class with Professor DeLucia and she immediately began to stand out from all other professors I have had on campus. Through my experience with Professor DeLucia's class and involvement as a Learning Specialist Fellow in Keys to Literacy, I have gained a much deeper appreciation for learning. She has an amazing ability to connect with all of her students, understands that people learn differently and makes an effort to accommodate everyone. Her impact on my life, the lives of students at Hunter College and the lives of her students at Keys to Literacy and Learning is profound!

Professor DeLucia has been my professor for about two semesters at Hunter College. Within this short period of time she has inspired in as many ways as possible. As a future teacher candidate, Professor DeLucia has served as a true exemplification of an educator. The way she has provided great guidance, and understanding to her students are some of the many reasons that make her an outstanding teacher. She connects with her students instantly, and leaves a lasting impression. Being Professor DeLucia's student and a Learning Specialist Fellow in Keys to Literacy, has helped me grow immensely. Her work in Keys to Literacy and Learning is one of the many reasons why she continues to be an inspiration to me. I truly appreciate her commitment to provide for her students as best as possible. I aspire to be an amazing educator as Professor DeLucia is.

We found Jessica, and the Keys to Literary program, around the time my daughter, Isabella, entered the middle of her 3rd grade academic year. Isabella was having a very difficult time reading and writing. She always had. She resisted reading at school and home, and it wasn't because she hated it. She just simply couldn't do it! Traditional methods of teaching were not working for her. Consequently, Isabella's suffered in ALL her subjects. After comprehensive evaluation, Jessica developed comprehensive program for Isabella. She has provided Isabella with the tools she needs to stay on course in the school she loves, learning with the friends she loves. She is getting a fuller education and has never been more passionate about learning. It is nice to finally see progress! With time, and great support from Keys to Literary, Isabella has become a more confident and motivated student. Just as exciting is that she realizes her improvements and feels good about the progress she is making every day. Thank you Keys to Literary for giving our daughter the drive and desire to do well in school! We also signed our son up for extra help. Let's face it, who couldn't use extra help!!

In search of a writing tutor to prep my fourth grade daughter for the state exam I interviewed many. There wasn't any urgency as my daughter was doing well in school overall; I wanted her to polish her writing skills. After meeting with Jessica we knew we found our tutor. Jessica is not only approachable and gentile, she is organized and driven. During her interview she laid out a full agenda as to how she was going to approach supporting my daughter to hone stronger writing skills. They started at the end of April giving them only two months to build trust and produce results. Those eight weeks were pivotal as my daughter's writing evolved and she excelled on the state exams. Jessica is approachable, communicative, and goal oriented. She has a proven track record to guide students to successfully reach small goals to then motivate them to achieve larger ones. Jessica will frequently email and call me to discuss my daughter's sessions. My daughter looks forward to her weekly tutoring sessions and her occasional session homework and is very happy to meet weekly with Jessica again this year. My daughter is interested in all aspects of school. Keys To Literacy embodies solid mentorship that emulates skills a parent hopes their child will assimilate. I'm confident every Keys to Literacy team member exhibits the same commitment to excellence that has grown Keys to Literacy and Learning into a dynamic organization.

Jessica DeLucia worked with our son both in school and later in private sessions for the past two and half years. When she began working with him he was 6 years old and struggled with both reading and writing. He went from being a reluctant below grade level reader to a passionate above grade level reader. Jessica is "that" teacher who inspires and knows how to work with a child as an individual, find their interests and push them to do things they didn't even know they could do. He also went from writing very basic sentences to composing compelling letters to political figures. I wish I could show samples of the before and after work because it is simply amazing. We were so impressed by Jessica that we asked her to work with our younger son, who is 5, on pre-literacy skills. He knew Jessica and wanted to work with her and is thrilled to learn to read. Jessica is brilliant, kind and a truly inspiring teacher. We feel lucky to have her and we highly recommend her to anyone.
